Majestic Structures

The Overworld's abandoned constructions, rebuilt in the Majestic style

Minecraft 1.21.1
NeoForge 21.1.249

Majestic Structures rebuilds the Overworld’s abandoned constructions in the Majestic style. It replaces the vanilla mineshafts and woodland mansions with the Order’s old workings and the Arcane Manor, lit by Order stone and worked by the creatures of the Majestic Bestiary.

What it ships

  • Eight jigsaw pieces for the mineshaft — a junction, a two-level hall, corridors, a crossing, a stair run, a cobwebbed side passage and a tool chamber
  • Ten jigsaw pieces for the Arcane Manor — a great hall, long and short wings, a dining wing, a gallery link, a library, a round tower, a conservatory, a sanctum and a terrace
  • majestic_structures:mineshaft, placed 45 blocks under the surface with expedition_core:wide_biome_jigsaw and terrain_adaptation: bury, on isolated_spread so two of them never overlap
  • majestic_structures:manor, replacing the vanilla woodland mansion with an asymmetric multi-wing jigsaw home of the arcane mages
  • Eight loot tables across both structures

The takeover

The vanilla structures are switched off by default. To put them back:

/majestic_structures takeover off
/reload

How deep is too deep

The mineshaft pieces sit 45 blocks under the surface and bury does not open caves, so a mineshaft that lands inside solid rock generates and you never find it. This cannot be fixed in code — a structure’s GenerationContext carries no chunk, so nothing can ask whether there is rock in the way before the rock exists.

Depth is the lever, so it is a setting:

# majestic_structures-common.toml
[mineshafts]
depthOffset = -45 # shipped default. Shallower is easier to reach.

or live, without editing anything:

/majestic_structures depth -25
/reload

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.1
  • NeoForge 21.1.249
  • Java 21

Dependencies

  • Majestic Core — the Order’s stone this is built out of
  • Majestic Bestiary — the creatures that live in our structures
  • Expedition Core — the placement utilities
  • GeckoLib — required by Majestic Bestiary’s models
